New Basestation Revision ?

Postby w0lt1 » August 24th, 2015, 3:20 pm

Any knowledge of when we might see the next revision of Basestation? 1.2.4.186?
Or any planned firmware updates?

Thanks in advance,

I think silence speaks volumes. With flightradar 24 and plane plotter as good as they are now have we reached the end for Basestation ?
Please Chris answer us !!!

While like everyone else I would like to see further updates to the Basestation software, it is still a very good package.

I don't think that FR24 and PP would be where they are without the data provided by the many various SBS devices still in use, and which outlive many others by years. If all SBS users suddenly went away the other programs would be very poor indeed.

The software works, and very well too, so the cry for updates has me curious. What is expected or anticipated from any update?

Hi hopefully the ability to pan the map screen or have a google earth style map, the option to look for an aircraft icao type if no operator flag is present ie bring up a silhouette flag for light aircraft, any newly received aircraft could come up as required in the user tag box, maybe aircraft routes without using 3rd party features no doubt other users have their ideas to. Just seems odd as new updates were quite frequent now nothing hence my question have we gone as far as it can go ?

Good points but fi you look at a basic Basestation installation out of the box, the one thing you will notice is that Kinetic have never provided any data information. The basic BS display will show a worldwide outline, a few limited airfields and country flags, nothing more.

All our data comes from supporters. We update the flags, provide the silhouettes/logos, create the airspace and airfield plan outline files and the navaid and airfield waypoint files. Programs like SBS Populate or ADLite provide aircraft details. It has always been this way because it is nice to have this information, and though Kinetic provided a means to show it all they didn't get involved in providing data.

I must admit that the ability to pan the screen (and zoom) with the mouse would be nice instead of having to use the arrows in the menu bar. :)

It's been awhile so I thought I would risk asking if there has been any discussion regarding BaseStation software updates in the near future?

Just amongst ourselves. :)

Kinetic never pre announce any software releases so we never know if an update is in the pipeline. :(

Still trying to find a link for the 1.85 release. Do you think this is something Chris's is holding on to?
