Thank you Darren, that answers part one to my reply. So what about the invisible announcements that I seem to be missing prior to log-in? Mods will hopefully put me right.

Roger

It looks like they have made it members only.
on the log in page you can set the forum to remember you by ticking the box under Password.

hopefully this will keep you logged in and only have to log in when any update to the forum has taken place.

I think its to keep numpty nuts out who sell pills and potions from spamming the forum.

I'll wager that Satcom and the PP fraternity are about to be inundated with ground stations and requests for master users. The process involved was way to complex but now MLAT should be much more available.

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick........ again?

MLAT will still need VODKA.

Aaah, thanks Tarbat, Vodka was the bit that tripped me up because of my ethernet set up.

Not strictly true. Only Mlat Groundstations will need either the Vodka patch (USB) or Ethernetovich (ethernet).

PP Mlat users who are not groundstations need neither.

That's always been the case, even before this new version of Basestation.

I didn't say it wasn't.

I was just clarifying your statement:

MLAT will still need VODKA.

Maybe it should read:

Mlat Groundstations will still need Vodka or Ethernetovich.

Being a bit picky, I know :)

As Tarbat mentioned earlier in the thread, it would be really good if a cut down version of basestation can be developed without the GUI so it's less chunky when developing third party apps.

Any chance of this happening?
